Main Purpose of the Job:
The Warehouse Assistant is assigned to the District Court of Maryland (DCM) warehouse and assists with IT equipment, shipments, mail, completed print jobs, and files for deliveries in the warehouse. Assists in conducting DCM inventories; assists in reconciling inventories; reorder supplies and submits requisitions & receipts using GEARS. Incumbent will ship special requests such as via UPS. Conducts inter-office deliveries, special equipment deliveries, or deliveries of other items from various agencies. The Warehouse Assistant will assist the Warehouse IT Coordinator in tracking, receiving, storing, and prepare IT assets for deployment. This position is responsible for ensuring that all items reach their destination on a timely basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Assistant provides assistance in the District Court of Maryland (DCM) Warehouse Department, under the IT Warehouse Unit. The incumbent checks emails and computer software, prepares IT equipment for deployment, receives defective IT equipment, and prepares equipment for GOV Deals auctions.
Assists the DCM Warehouse in conducting/reconciling DCM Annual Sensitive Item Inventory and 3-year DCM Blind Inventory). Uses the current AM software and hardware to assist in conducting these inventories. This position will also use a forklift or pallet jack to receive and unload new IT equipment, and scans and barcodes accordingly.
Receives supplies to be used as out product for future disbursement to the courts and the public using specialized computer software. Receives office supplies for the warehouse?s daily use. Files order forms and receiving reports in proper files for future reference and use.
Files purchase orders, requisitions, receipts, invoices, and other warehouse records. Assists in vehicle maintenance transport, backup driver for warehouse deliveries, assists in general warehouse safety and cleanliness. Completes other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
Experience: One (1) year of work experience in physical inventory, warehouse, or asset management.
Required: Must have a valid Maryland Driver?s License.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of inventory control and storage procedures.
Knowledge of the State of Maryland and District Court rules, regulations, and procedures for procurement and inventory control.
Knowledgeable about Court and shop locations.
Knowledgeable of MD, VA, and DC area.
Knowledge of current AM software/hardware
Ability to:
Ability to maintain accurate records and produce accurate reports.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to lift and/or move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
Ability to use, or learn to use, a personal computer and complex shipping software applications.
Ability to safely drive a truck and/or van.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment, lifts, and a pallet jack.
Ability to order pull, load, and unload trucks.
Ability to use a PC, printer, monitor and scanner to receipt and stock items
Ability to utilize GEARS ? Oracle PeopleSoft General Enterprise and Resource Support ? to inventory, reconcile, reorder, and/or receipt court forms.
Ability to use SendSuite Live -- shipping software interconnected with United Parcel Service ? for shipping items.
Ability to follow protocols to ensure items reach their destination on a timely basis.

Physical Requirements:
