Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a mission-driven organization. This fully remote role is ideal for someone who can manage core accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to timely reporting. The position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on experience with multiple accounting platforms, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity accurately and preparing routine journal entries.

Complete bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis to ensure balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved quickly.

Support tax-related accounting tasks, including work tied to corporate tax matters and sales tax reporting.

Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal reports by organizing and reviewing accounting data.

Use QuickBooks, Sage, and Excel to manage accounting records, analyze transactions, and improve reporting accuracy.

Review accounting documentation for completeness and compliance with established financial procedures.

Partner with internal stakeholders to address accounting questions and help keep month-end activities on schedule. Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At least 5 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.

Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.

Proven experience performing bank reconciliations and resolving account variances.

Proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Excel.

Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and related reporting responsibilities.

Experience in the staffing industry is preferred.
