English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher
Setting: Healthcare Facilities
Job Type: Contract - Full Time
Pay: $43 / Hour
Hours: 37.50
Location: Saint Louis, MO
The K-12 ESL Teacher provides English language development instruction and academic support to multilingual learners. The ESL Teacher assesses students' English proficiency, develops and implements instructional plans, collaborates with school staff and families, and supports students' academic achievement and language acquisition. The ESL Teacher promotes an inclusive learning environment while ensuring compliance with federal, state, district, and program requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Foreign Language, World Languages, Linguistics, or a related field
- Valid state teaching license with an ESL/ELL/ESOL endorsement and/or certification as required by the state and/or district
- Demonstrated proficiency in the language being taught
- Knowledge of second-language acquisition principles and effective instructional practices
- Strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Ability to comply with FERPA and HIPPA requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
