In the Storefront team, we are the first impression of a  customers shopping experience; we own the design and implementation of the customer-facing website. We partner with Product, Experience Design, Analytics and business leaders across Wayfair; our Storefront Engineering teams ensure that were building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways.   Bengaluru is home to our brand new, strategic technology delivery center and will be critical to achieving our future growth plans. We are looking for best in class Engineers to come in and help scale our technical products and teams alike as we continue on our path to be the worlds number one online destination for the home. As one of the early members of the team here in our strategic technology delivery center, you will partner closely with our technology and business leaders from around the world to help build the platform to support our growth plans to $50B USD and beyond in the next 3 to 5 years. The team in the Bengaluru delivery center can work across multiple domains that drive speed and convenience for the customer and cost efficiency across the full value chain. If you love to solve real business problems at scale, in a fast-paced, high growth and agile environment, this is the role for you! *What Youll Do:* * Manage a team of high performing engineers that will shape the future of eCommerce with rich, responsive frontend experiences seen and used by millions of customers everyday * Build a capable team with strong leadership through effective headcount planning, hiring, on-boarding, retention, and continuous improvement * Create a culture of frontend quality via coaching, pair programming, design sessions, and code review to ensure our frontend code is thoughtful, scalable, reusable, well tested and performant using frameworks such as React and Next * Author and contribute to system designs that emphasize intuitive interfaces and composability * Develop cross functional technology roadmaps and deliver large-scale projects that influence how customers shop at Wayfair * Together with our platform teams, push our frontend strategy to the forefront of industry best practices with regard to web standards, component breakdown, accessibility, cross-device design and code considerations, page rendering, and browser performance. * Build relationships with technical leaders and business decision-makers to enhance collaboration, information sharing, decision-making, and influence decisions * Work cross-functionally with different teams such as Engineering teams, Product, and core areas of the business to envision the end-to-end complex business state by connecting various pieces together * Be a part of the team that is leading the market in delivering the most delightful customer online shopping experience for home furnishings in a quickly changing landscape     *What Youll Need * * Extensive experience as a full lifecycle frontend engineer and mastery of some flavor of modern frontend frameworks and technologies (React, Ember, Angular, Vue, Styled Components, SASS, etc) * A deep understanding of a JavaScript state management library, such as Redux, MobX, or Apollo * An understanding of CSS, HTML, and related concepts at-scale (responsive/adaptive design, accessibility, libraries and post-processors) * Passion for leading a large, cross-cutting technical initiative to delivery, cross-functional consensus building and influencing design decisions  * Experience coaching and driving multiple teams of software engineers in end-to-end delivery of business impacting applications * Ability to make decisions effectively autonomously, dive into a project/problem, and adapt to evolving requirements * Up-to-date on the latest frontend and design technology, trends, and industry news * A genuine believer in constructive and respectful code reviews, retros, and collaborative problem-solving as the bedrock of a healthy team and experience utilizing these as mentorship vectors * Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alike * Prior experience of leading/managing team of 5+ engineers Wayfair is one of the worlds largest online destinations for the home.
