Accounts Receivable ClerkRobert Half

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join a team in City of Industry, California on a Contract basis for an estimated 30-60 day assignment. This role is well suited for someone who can manage incoming payments, support accurate invoicing, and follow up on outstanding balances with professionalism. The position will play an important part in maintaining timely cash flow and ensuring receivable records remain current and accurate.

Responsibilities:

Process customer invoices and record receivable activity with a high level of accuracy.

Apply incoming payments to the correct accounts and resolve discrepancies related to cash posting.

Monitor aging reports and communicate with commercial clients regarding overdue balances.

Support collection efforts by following up on past-due accounts and documenting account activity.

Reconcile account details to confirm billing, payments, and adjustments are properly reflected.

Investigate payment variances and work with internal partners to correct account issues promptly.

Maintain organized financial records and assist with updates to receivable data as needed.

Contribute to accounts receivable workflows during contract operational or system-related changes when required. Requirements Experience supporting accounts receivable functions in a fast-paced business environment.

Working knowledge of commercial collections and effective customer follow-up practices.

Ability to post cash receipts accurately and manage cash application tasks efficiently.

Background in billing support, invoice review, and account reconciliation.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve payment discrepancies.

Comfortable using accounting systems and spreadsheet tools to track receivable activity.

Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
