Execute change management procedures, troubleshoot complex computer hardware issues, and assess new server hardware and software requirements. Ensuring up-to-date patch levels and conducting compliance audits on supported systems will be among your duties, alongside supporting Cyber Security Specialists during incident response activities. Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Lead operating system installation, configuration, monitoring, and support for VMware, Storage, and appliance-based systems.
  • Provide expert-level end-user support for all systems during core hours and rotational on-call support after core hours and on weekends.
  • Spearhead change management procedures for both hardware and software, collaborating closely with the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as necessary.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and/or coordination of computer hardware repairs with vendors, resolving complex issues efficiently.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of new server hardware and software requirements, proposing changes/upgrades, and devising and testing deployment strategies.
  • Take charge of hardening servers to comply with established security baselines, maintaining patch levels, and providing expert support to Cyber Security Specialists during incident responses.
  • Manage maintenance tasks and maintain meticulous inventory records of all servers and server-related equipment and software.
  • Develop and uphold standard procedures for routine and recurring activities, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
  • Lead backup and restore support efforts, overseeing the health of the backup environment, including annual restore tests, and managing communication/troubleshooting for failed backups, including database backup and restore.
