Overview

Supervisors in Production are responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing. They provide leadership and direction to production employees, ensure compliance with company policies and food safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in productivity and employee engagement.



Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to production employees.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and complete HACCP, Allergen, Fryer, and other safety/quality reports.
  • Oversee daily production schedules to achieve safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Direct oversight of operators on a line or shift.
  • Provide hands-on support, coaching, and training for new or less experienced employees.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior supervisors or Chief Supervisor.
  • Diagnose and resolve product, process, and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Analyze performance data, recommend corrective actions, and implement process improvements.
  • Develop work schedules, training programs, and staffing plans.
  • Decision-making focused on immediate production needs.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, HR, and other departments to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain accurate reports, logs, and metrics for production, safety, and attendance.
  • Promote teamwork, continuous improvement, and a positive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or six+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production reporting systems (ERP/ADP or similar).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience in food manufacturing or related production environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, GMPs, HACCP, and OSHA safety standards.
