Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Manager of Patient Safety and Risk at St. Mary Medical Center, you will oversee the facility's Patient Safety Program, including the Patient Safety Plan requirements for the collection, analysis and reporting of events and patient safety data, investigation of events and near misses, and will ensure all accreditation and regulatory requirements for patient safety are fully met.
In this position, you will participate in system office initiatives and programs to mitigate identified risks which result in reduced costs, reduced adverse patient outcomes, and safer patient care. You will coordinate claim team requests and collaborate with other key stakeholders to implement learnings from claims. You will also spearhead the the coordination of all legal documents related to hospital liability.
To be successful in this role, you will need to leverage your expertise to be proactive, always thinking ahead and having solutions ready. You will need to be an educator with strong communication skills. Our ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in patient safety and risk management for a general acute-care Hospital.

We are offering relocation assistance to all hires who meet relocation eligibility requirements, and we are offering a sign-on bonus up to 10% of salary to fully qualified external hires.

Additional incentives for this position include an annual performance-based bonus program, annual employer-funded retirement contribution (no employee contribution required), no-cost medical coverage for the employee, and 29 days PTO accrued annually.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Bachelor's degree, or five (5) years of related job or industry experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of risk management, patient safety and/or other related professional experience and a minimum of two (2) years of experience managing/supervising employees and/or vendors.

Preferred

  • Active Registered Nursing (RN) license in the State of California.

$57.25 - $85.16 /hour
