Jennifer Fukumae with Robert Half's Financial Services Division is partnering with a growing, technology-focused venture capital firm in San Francisco seeking a Fund Finance Associate to join its finance team.

The firm invests across multiple stages of the technology ecosystem, with a focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, enterprise software, fintech, healthcare, and emerging technologies. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and expanding investment platform, gain exposure to multiple funds and SPVs, and take on meaningful ownership of fund accounting, reporting, and operational processes.

Responsibilities

Fund Accounting & Operations

• Manage recurring monthly and quarterly close activities across multiple funds and SPVs, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.

• Prepare NAV calculations, capital account statements, investor allocations, and fund reporting schedules.

• Coordinate with external fund administrators, auditors, and tax providers to support ongoing fund operations.

Financial Reporting & Valuations

• Prepare investor reporting packages and supporting financial schedules.

• Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and related documentation requests.

• Support quarterly investment valuations by gathering comparable company data, updating valuation models, and preparing investment summaries.

• Assist with fund performance reporting and portfolio updates.

Investment & Operational Support

• Coordinate transaction documentation, wire packages, and supporting investment records.

• Maintain fund cash tracking, investment capacity schedules, and portfolio databases.

• Support regulatory reporting, compliance tracking, and ongoing process improvements.

• Help develop and improve accounting systems, workflows, and operational procedures.

Technology & Process Improvement

• Utilize AI tools, including Claude and other automation platforms, to streamline reconciliations, research, documentation, and reporting.

• Identify opportunities to automate recurring processes and improve the efficiency of the finance function.

Requirements

• 25 years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, public accounting (fund audit or Big 4), or venture capital/private equity finance.

• Understanding of fund accounting concepts, including capital accounts, investor allocations, NAV, and waterfalls, or the ability to learn quickly.

• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial systems; Carta experience is a plus.

• Interest in AI, automation, and leveraging technology to improve accounting workflows.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage recurring deadlines.

• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a willingness to take ownership.

• CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
