Description

A well-established manufacturer is adding an Accounts Payable Specialist to support its purchasing and finance operations. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys solving invoice discrepancies, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring the numbers behind inventory and purchasing transactions are accurate. The person in this position will work closely with purchasing, warehouse, and accounting teams to keep supplier accounts current and prevent billing issues from affecting daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Review and process invoices for raw materials, packaging, freight, equipment, and business services.

• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving records.

• Investigate price variances, quantity discrepancies, duplicate invoices, and missing credits.

• Reconcile supplier statements and maintain accurate vendor account balances.

• Prepare payment batches and monitor invoices approaching due dates.

• Maintain vendor records, payment terms, and required tax documentation.

• Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to resolve receiving and pricing issues.

• Review freight invoices and other inventory-related expenses for proper coding.

• Assist with month-end accruals, AP reconciliations, and expense reporting.

• Identify recurring invoice issues and recommend ways to improve processing accuracy.

Requirements

• 24 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience.

• Manufacturing, inventory, distribution, or purchasing exposure preferred.

• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP or inventory accounting systems.

• Understanding of three-way matching and vendor statement reconciliations.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively across departments.
