Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part Time, Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Northern, Colorado. This role is well suited for someone with strong experience in corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger activities who can work accurately in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise with journal entries, tax return support, and NetSuite while helping maintain reliable financial records and compliance processes.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule.

Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, researching discrepancies, and supporting period-end close tasks.

Assist with corporate tax processes, including gathering documentation and supporting the preparation of corporate tax filings.

Manage sales tax activities by reviewing taxable transactions, reconciling records, and helping ensure timely reporting.

Support the completion of account reconciliations and investigate variances to improve accuracy in financial reporting.

Use NetSuite to enter, review, and monitor accounting data while maintaining organized and audit-ready records.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect financial information needed for compliance, reporting, and tax-related deliverables.

Requirements Experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role with responsibility for general ledger activities.

Working knowledge of corporate tax concepts and support for corporate tax return preparation.

Practical experience handling sales tax review, reporting, or reconciliation tasks.

Strong ability to prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.

Hands-on experience using NetSuite in an accounting environment.

Solid analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to resolve accounting discrepancies.

Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a long-term contract assignment.
