Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a growing team in a hybrid work environment. This role is well suited for an early-career accounting specialist who is eager to build a strong foundation across core accounting functions. The ideal candidate brings a solid academic background in accounting or finance, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate monthly and year-end financial reporting.

Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain clean and reliable financial records.

Assist with accounts payable activities, including reviewing transactions and helping ensure timely processing.

Support corporate and sales tax-related accounting tasks, including gathering data and maintaining organized documentation.

Contribute to general ledger maintenance by reviewing account activity and helping keep balances accurate.

Collaborate with colleagues across the accounting team to meet deadlines and complete day-to-day financial operations.

Help identify variances or unusual items in financial data and escalate issues when needed.

Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Internship experience in accounting, finance, or a similar business function is preferred.

Familiarity with journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.

Exposure to accounts payable processes and basic operational accounting tasks.

Understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, or tax reporting concepts is a plus.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work consistently.

Effective time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a hybrid work setting.
