Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's growing team. This position supports core accounting operations and plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, completing timely close activities, and producing meaningful financial information. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience across day-to-day accounting functions and is comfortable working with financial data, reconciliations, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

Support daily accounting activities by maintaining accurate records and assisting with a wide range of general ledger tasks.

Contribute to the month-end close process by preparing entries, reconciling accounts, and helping ensure reporting deadlines are met.

Process payroll transactions with accuracy and attention to established timelines and compliance standards.

Perform cost accounting work to help track expenses, evaluate cost drivers, and support operational decision-making.

Analyze financial information and prepare summaries that highlight trends, variances, and key performance insights.

Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice review, coding, and timely payment processing.

Create and maintain Excel-based reports to support financial tracking, reconciliation, and management reporting.

Requirements

Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting support role.

Working knowledge of journal entries and general ledger accounting.

Prior experience with accounts payable required

Understanding of sales tax requirements and related accounting implications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and data organization.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong accuracy and attention to detail.
