Robert Half is partnering with a successful manufacturing company in Milford, CT, to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing high-volume invoice processing, vendor relationships, and payment operations. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently

• Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system

• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents

• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies

• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation

• Respond to vendor inquiries and cultivate positive supplier relationships

• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations

• Monitor aging reports and ensure timely payment of invoices

• Support inventory and purchasing teams by resolving receiving and invoicing issues

• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls

• Assist with audit requests and provide documentation as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment

• Experience processing high-volume invoices

• Familiarity with purchase orders, three-way matching, and vendor management

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
