Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Miami, Florida and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and timely reporting. This position will contribute across the close cycle, balance sheet integrity, and financial analysis while partnering with internal teams and external accounting support. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple accounting priorities with accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities:

Drive monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities to help ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.

Prepare and evaluate balance sheet reconciliations across areas such as cash, prepaid expenses, leases, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany accounts.

Record recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including accrual, reclassification, and other adjusting transactions.

Review account activity, identify irregular fluctuations, and research underlying causes to resolve discrepancies.

Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports by organizing data and validating results.

Oversee fixed asset records, including capitalization, transfers, retirements, and depreciation tracking.

Assist with technical accounting matters, including lease-related analysis, and coordinate with a third-party accountant when needed.

Provide support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger functions, and audit requests by supplying schedules and documentation.

Help strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls through cross-functional collaboration and consistent documentation.

Take ownership of assigned accounting areas, partnering with finance and operations teams to meet deadlines and improve reporting accuracy.

Requirements

5+ years of accounting experience, including substantial exposure to month-end close activities.

Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation.

Experience performing bank reconciliations and maintaining accuracy across balance sheet accounts.

Familiarity with lease accounting and fixed asset accounting principles.

Ability to analyze variances, investigate exceptions, and resolve accounting issues efficiently.

Experience supporting financial statement preparation, audit requests, and related documentation needs.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Degreed a must
