Payroll Specialist Sunny Isles Beach

Location: Sunny Isles Beach, FL

Sunny Isles Beach is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to process payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with applicable payroll regulations and municipal policies. The ideal candidate will have experience with municipal or government payroll and proficiency in Tyler Munis software.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly or scheduled payroll for municipal employees.

• Review and verify timesheets, hours worked, overtime, leave balances, and payroll adjustments.

• Calculate and process payroll deductions, tax withholdings, benefits, and other employee payments.

• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information in Tyler Munis.

• Reconcile payroll reports and investigate discrepancies.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

• Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and year-end processing, including W-2s.

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and payroll discrepancies.

• Maintain the confidentiality of employee payroll and personnel information.

• Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, and other municipal departments as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Previous payroll processing experience required.

• Experience with Tyler Munis is strongly preferred.

• Municipal or government payroll experience is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, benefits, overtime, and payroll reconciliations.

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
