We are seeking a professional and dependable Legal Project Manager / Facility Security Officer (FSO) to provide comprehensive support across legal operations, security compliance and facility management. This includes leading core legal operational functions, spanning document control, investigative and litigation support, enterprise records management, and cross‑functional legal project execution ensuring organizational compliance. This role also carries pivotal responsibility for safeguarding the enterprise as the Facility Security Officer, championing our security compliance program under the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and DCSA requirements. This includes providing enterprise-wide security compliance oversight to ensure personnel, information, physical facilities, and classified defense contracts are in full compliance with government standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Project Manager (LPM Duties)
  • Manage corporate document control by maintaining policies, procedures and work-instructions, overseeing version control and approvals, and ensuring timely, accurate publication to SharePoint.
  • Provide support for investigations, including legal holds, interviews, document review/production, and third‑party subpoena management.
  • Oversee Records Management Program by maintaining retention standards, coordinating departmental compliance reviews, and ensuring secure lifecycle management of electronic and hard‑copy records.
  • Assist with corporate governance statutory filings, registrations, annual reports and amendments.
  • Maintain and administer the Legal Department's SharePoint site and document libraries, ensuring content accuracy and streamlined organization.
  • Manage legal billing processes, including reviewing invoices for accuracy and maintaining outside counsel engagement documentation.
  • Assist with organization administrative and compliance duties and support as required.
Facility Security (FSO Duties)
  • Manage and implement the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) in compliance with NISPOM, DoD 5220.22‑M, ICDs, and agency‑specific directives.
  • Oversee personnel clearances, including clearance processing, reinvestigations, incident reporting, and continuous eligibility monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate personnel security records and systems (DISS, NBIS) and ensure adherence to need‑to‑know and access requirements.
  • Conduct required briefings, debriefings, annual training, and enterprise‑wide security awareness programs, including insider threat.
  • Manage classified document control including accountability, inventory, and safeguarding requirements, transmission, and destruction of classified information.
  • Coordinate classified contract security requirements, perform DD254 reviews, manage subcontractor security compliance.
  • Collaborate with the front desk receptionist to support facility safety and emergency response.
Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree; Plus, a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, or in absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience.
    • Paralegal certificate and/or experience preferred but not required
  • A minimum of one year project and budget management experience.
  • Experience in Corporate compliance and corporate governance.
  • Ability to work independently, confident in abilities, but seeks help when needed, anticipates next steps.
  • Self-starter that will work independently in time-sensitive environment. Ability to multitask in a stressful and fast paced environment with specific deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; capable of interpreting and effectively communicating information to other employees.
  • Investigative mind and strong research skills.
  • Knowledge of legal framework and stays current with updated laws that impact industry and locations.
  • Uses good judgement and has sound decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Keeps private matters private and understands and respects the confidential nature of Legal records.
  • Acts with integrity, works collaboratively, meets commitments, and strives to continually improve and streamline processes.
  • U.S. citizenship required; must hold or be eligible for a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred
  • Preferred but not required experience in industrial or facility security within a cleared‑contractor environment.
  • Completion of DCSA FSO training (or ability to complete upon hiring).
  • Strong working knowledge of NISPOM, DoD security policies, ICDs, and classified handling standard.
  • Experience managing DISS, NBIS, and other government security systems.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
Other Requirements:
  • Travel: Minimal travel expected.
  • Work Environment:
    • Typically, office work environment.
    • Must be able to remain at desk, standing or seated for extended periods.
    • May require escorting visitors and emergency response support.
  • Background Investigation / US Person / Drug Screen: Required.
