Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Dispatcher to support daily transportation and delivery operations. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, desk-based logistics environment and can coordinate multiple moving parts with accuracy and urgency. The person in this role will help keep routes organized, support drivers throughout the day, and ensure service issues are addressed promptly and professionally.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate daily route activity for a large group of drivers, helping maintain efficient delivery coverage and timely service execution.

Use dispatch and routing platforms to build, adjust, and monitor driver schedules throughout each shift.

Support dock and loadout preparation by receiving inbound vehicles, organizing staged routes, and preparing the site for driver departures.

Assist drivers during check-in and release by answering operational questions, resolving package concerns, and reinforcing delivery expectations and compliance standards.

Track drivers while they are on the road, respond to emerging service issues, and escalate payment, policy, or technical concerns when needed.

Review delivery documentation and proof-of-delivery records, identify missing or inaccurate submissions, and flag exceptions for follow-up.

Reconcile undelivered or failed packages after routes are completed, complete incident or risk reporting when appropriate, and reset the work area for the next cycle.

Prepare clear end-of-shift updates and handoff notes so remote or follow-on teams can continue dispatch coverage without disruption.

Provide limited hands-on support with package sorting during high-volume periods to help keep operations on schedule. Requirements Previous experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, transportation support, or a similar operations-focused role.

Strong ability to manage multiple drivers, route updates, and service issues in a high-volume environment.

Comfortable working with computer-based dispatch, tracking, and scheduling systems.

Solid communication skills with the ability to guide drivers, answer questions, and address issues professionally.

Customer service experience with a calm, solutions-oriented approach in time-sensitive situations.

Strong attention to detail when reviewing route information, delivery records, and compliance-related documentation.

Ability to work in a desk-based operational setting with ongoing coverage needs across multiple dispatch stations. TalentMatch
