Description We are looking for a Mass Tort Legal Assistant to support a busy plaintiff-side litigation team. This long-term contract opportunity is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and can manage case activity with accuracy and urgency. The person in this role will contribute to case development, document preparation, and deadline coordination while helping attorneys and legal staff keep matters moving efficiently.

Responsibilities: Obtain, analyze, and condense medical documentation to support discovery responses and case fact development. Assess incoming matters and organize case materials so attorneys can determine readiness for review and filing. Support intake operations by helping maintain accurate information and smooth case onboarding workflows. Oversee case progress within the electronic case management platform, ensuring records, tasks, and updates remain current. Prepare and distribute clear written communications to clients, providers, courts, and other parties as needed. Draft litigation documents such as complaints, discovery materials, and related filings for attorney review. Provide day-to-day administrative and case support to attorneys and senior paralegals across mass tort matters. Record all case activity, communications, and developments thoroughly to maintain complete and reliable file histories. Track statutes of limitation and other filing deadlines, and assist with timely submissions in accordance with attorney direction. Process invoicing promptly and in line with firm procedures and documentation standards.

The pay range for this position is 20 to 23. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Background in mass tort, personal injury, or broader civil litigation matters is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience preparing pleadings, coordinating court filings, and supporting e-filing activities.

Ability to review medical records and produce clear, accurate summaries of relevant information.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Familiarity with case management systems; experience with Smart Advocate is preferred.

Strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail, and the ability to manage calendars and competing deadlines.
