Robert Half is partnering with a respected mid-sized law firm in Chicago that is seeking a Lateral Partner or Senior Associate Attorney to join its growing Specialty Lines Defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator looking to work on sophisticated, high-exposure matters while enjoying a collaborative environment and a clear path for professional growth.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of specialty lines defense matters.

• Handle Directors & Officers (D& O), Errors & Omissions (E& O), and Employment Practices Liability (EPL) claims.

• Defend complex, high-exposure litigation involving personal injury and construction defect matters.

• Develop litigation strategies and oversee cases through all phases of litigation.

• Conduct depositions, attend court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

• Maintain strong client relationships and provide strategic legal counsel.

• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to achieve favorable client outcomes.

• Participate in business development and practice growth initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of litigation experience, or an established portable practice.

• Significant experience handling D& O and/or E& O matters.

• Experience with EPL and complex casualty defense litigation preferred.

• Strong litigation, case management, and client communication skills.

• Ability to independently manage files while working effectively within a team environment.

• Illinois bar admission required.

• Indiana licensure preferred.

• Insurance coverage experience is a plus.

• Portable and sustainable defense business is a plus for partner-level candidates.
