Description

We are looking for an Part time Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling a mix of payables, receivables, and account reconciliation tasks. The selected candidate will help maintain accurate records, support timely transaction processing, and contribute to the smooth operation of the accounting function.

Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices accurately, assign the appropriate coding, and prepare payments in accordance with established timelines.

Monitor incoming customer payments, apply receipts correctly, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.

Reconcile bank activity against financial records to identify discrepancies and ensure account accuracy.

Maintain accounting data in QuickBooks, keeping entries current, organized, and audit-ready.

Review financial documents for completeness and resolve inconsistencies in coordination with internal stakeholders or external contacts.

Assist with routine reporting and provide administrative support for daily accounting operations.

Requirements Previous experience supporting accounting or bookkeeping functions in a detail-focused environment.

Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Ability to perform bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Practical experience using QuickBooks for transaction entry and record maintenance.

Familiarity with invoice coding and general financial document handling.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
