Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details

• Location: Fairfield, Iowa
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810$1,940
• Schedule: MondayFriday, 6:30 a.m.3:00 p.m.
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call: Occasional call coverage until 7:00 p.m.; no overnight call and no weekend call
• Work Setting: On-site operating room

Operating Room Surgical Technologist Requirements

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program meeting core curriculum requirements and accredited by CAAHEP
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Prior operating room, OR Tech, or surgical technology experience is preferred but not required
• Ability to meet applicable professional licensure, certification, background screening, occupational health, and onboarding requirements before the assignment begins
• Completion of required Iowa mandatory reporter education and facility education modules before starting, as applicable
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety

Travel Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform surgical technologist functions in the operating room according to established clinical standards and policies
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures
• Assist the surgical team during procedures while maintaining a sterile field
• Support safe patient care throughout the perioperative process
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team
• Maintain accurate surgical counts and follow infection prevention and safety protocols
• Participate in occasional evening call coverage through 7:00 p.m. when scheduled
