Description

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support purchasing operations for a growing Prairieville area company. This position plays a central role in maintaining product availability, coordinating vendor activity, and ensuring orders move accurately from placement through delivery and system entry. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable managing a high volume of transactions across multiple suppliers and account types.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate recurring purchases for multiple accounts by following established ordering schedules and maintaining appropriate stock levels for each location.

Enter purchase orders promptly into business systems, monitor their progress through delivery, and keep order records current from placement to receipt.

Receive inbound shipments by matching deliveries to purchase documentation, verifying quantities and items, and recording receipts accurately in inventory systems.

Investigate shortages, delays, substitutions, and other delivery discrepancies, then communicate with suppliers to secure resolution and improve service reliability.

Manage inventory movements between warehouse, bulk storage, and facility locations to support operational demand across the service area.

Assist with supplier onboarding by completing setup documentation, establishing new vendor records, and maintaining organized purchasing data.

Create and maintain item records, update account-specific pricing, and apply approved cost changes to customer programs as needed.

Support purchasing compliance activities by helping maintain required licenses, preparing vendor documentation, and contributing data for recurring operational reports.

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, and inventory control.

Ability to manage numerous orders, vendors, and deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Experience following up on open orders and resolving shipment issues in a timely and detail-focused manner.

Working knowledge of pricing, cost changes, and how purchasing decisions affect downstream operations.

Strong spreadsheet skills and comfort learning or using purchasing and accounting platforms such as inventory management systems and QuickBooks.

Ability to work effectively with various customer environments.

Clear communication skills and a dependable, organized approach to daily workload management.
