Financial Disclosure: As a state employee, you may be required to file an annual Financial Disclosure with the State Ethics Commission. If you are required to file, you will be notified by the Judiciary Human Resources Division and must file within 30 days of employment and no later than April 30th of each subsequent calendar year.

Essential Job Functions:  

The DCREP (District Court Re-entry Program) (PSC) Case Manager is responsible for facilitating and monitoring program participant?s involvement and completion of employment and re-entry services of the court re-entry program. As ordered by the court. The oversight includes, but is not limited to, identifying, and facilitating access to employment, education and vocational opportunities and resources as needed by the participants. This position does not provide the ?service?. The position facilitates placement to vocational training and employment services and opportunities, monitors progress of behavior, attendance, skills learned, compliance, and implementation of the other services needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Identifying & Networking ? Community Resources

Research and engage community agencies and organizations to assure adequate resources are available in providing opportunities/services to program participants, in educational, vocational and employment services.

Court Related Activities

Participate in weekly or bi-weekly meetings with DCREP partners, prepare/print court reports for court hearings, participate in court proceedings and document activities for the DCREP file as necessary.

Program Reporting & Documentation

Responsible for accurate and timely submission of all Case management reports in AIMS and the court Reports. Ability to write clear, concise, accurate, timely notes on each participant, ability to construct, critique, evaluate and update case plans, ability to construct recommendations based on participant needs and requests.

Direct Service to Participants

Accountable for participant service evaluation, authoring, updating, and evaluating case plans with participants, identifying vocational and employment needs and facilitating access to those services/programs, provide guidance to participants through court-ordered tasks and obligations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited college or university

Experience: Two (2) years of fieldwork or case management experience to include project or program case management, in the field of mental health, homelessness, addictions, human/family service, health services, public safety, law enforcement or court management.

Note: This position will not act in a clinical capacity, and supervision hours will not be offered if applicant requires clinical licensing hours. Licenses and Certificates are not a requirement for employment.

Education: Associate degree from an accredited college or university

Experience: Four (4) years of fieldwork or case management experience to include project or program case management, in the field of mental health, homelessness, addictions, human/family services, health services, public safety, law enforcement or court management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Knowledge and experience in the field of social or criminal justice case management.

Knowledge of the general provisions affiliated with re-entry programs and services.

Skill in:

Skill in active listening, empathy, problem solving, and communication.

Skill in customer service and handling problems tactfully and patiently.

Ability to:

Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, facilitate meetings, and give presentations.

Ability to create and maintain critical relationships with organizations and work to improve and enhance the DCREP program participant outcomes.

Ability to maintain standard ethical standards and integrity among staff and program participants.

Ability to treat participants with respect and dignity and manage conflict; communicate.

Ability to make professional choices related to all participant activities which do not compromise the participant and their families, the court, the case, and the DCREP team partners.

Ability to assimilate within the court process; adhere to established protocols, manage deadlines, provide a high level of customer service, and disseminate information accurately and appropriately to program participants and the public.

Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, judgement, tact, diplomacy, and competence in dealing with Judges, attorneys, court personnel, service providers, the public and program participants.

Ability to take directives; work independently, create, and sustain community partners to promote the program and its purpose in the community and for the court.

Ability to learn data input into assigned management information systems.

Ability to multi-task and manage a flow in program activity and change.

Ability to think critically about the population and utilize program data and research to address service trends as well as participant and program needs appropriately.

Ability to complete legal and field research and maintain an updated understanding of the field of re-entry behavior, and criminal justice best practice.

Ability to develop partnerships with knowledge of re-entry and criminal just services.

Ability to perform all essential functions of the position

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
