This position requires a valid Maryland drivers license and transporting files using personal vehicle. Physical requirements include: Lifting heavy stacks of files (50 lbs. or more), climbing ladders to reach upper shelves (12 ft.) and standing for long periods of 2 hours or more. 

Essential Job Functions:  

Daily transportation of all court case files to and from the Courthouse. Maintains all court cases stored in the Clerk's warehouse. Pulls and files criminal, civil, child support and juvenile cases handled through the records warehouse that is needed in the Clerk's Office. Maintains a log of all incoming and outgoing court cases.

Pull requested court cases from numerical filing system for all Clerk Office's divisions. Box court cases to be shipped to Maryland State Archives. Re-file cases at the Records Management location and State Archives. Maintain Excel log spreadsheet of all cases received and sent from the Records Management warehouse.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:     High school diploma (or GED equivalent).

Experience: One (1) year of work experience in a warehouse, records/storage maintenance facility, or business where materials, equipment, or other items are received, stored or issued.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Alpha and numeric filing systems. 

Records retention and disposal schedule.

Applicable safety standards and precautions.

Skill in:

Utilizing personal computers and Microsoft Office products to include but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook.

Ability to:

Distinguish colors used in filing systems; file in alphabetical and/or numerical order.

Lift and/or move heavy objects up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance.

Work within time constraints, meet fixed deadlines, and demonstrate good organizational skills.

Work effectively as a team member in a high-volume environment.

Follow written and verbal directions.

Read and interpret documents to perform work.

Learn State Archives filing systems.

Communicate clearly, tactfully, and effectively.

Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.

Reach overhead, horizontally, bending, stooping, and stretching.

Work in any weather environment.

Work Environment:  

Travel is required 5 days a week

Equipment, Machinery and Tools:

Computer for checking out cases and locating cases

Fax machine to send log of requested cases

Personal motor vehicle for transporting cases between warehouse and Circuit Court (mileage is reimbursable).

Software and Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office. ACS
