Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for an organization based in Bedford, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for an individual who can manage day-to-day financial activities with accuracy, maintain reliable records, and contribute to timely reporting. The role offers the chance to work across general ledger processes, tax-related tasks, and routine accounting close activities in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting system.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, researching variances and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

Support corporate tax activities by organizing documentation and assisting with filings and related compliance requirements.

Handle sales tax processes, including reviewing transactions, preparing reports, and helping ensure accurate submissions.

Assist with the preparation of corporate tax return support schedules and related financial information.

Participate in month-end and period-end close activities to help deliver complete and accurate financial results.

Review accounting records for consistency and completeness while strengthening internal documentation and controls. Requirements Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.

Knowledge of general ledger accounting and hands-on experience preparing journal entries.

Familiarity with corporate tax processes, including support for corporate tax return preparation.

Experience managing or assisting with sales tax reporting and compliance activities.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Proficiency in standard accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial analysis and reporting.
