Overview
The Director, Business Analytics is responsible for operationalizing the business side of the organization's analytics program: consolidating business requirements, maintaining enterprise metric standards, coordinating the embedded analyst community, and measuring adoption and outcomes. This role focuses on the business application of data: what the organization needs, why it matters, and whether it is being used.
The Director serves as a primary point of coordination between business functions and the Business Intelligence team. This role compiles and maintains the analytics roadmap, administers the enterprise KPI library, supports the Business Analytics Steering Committee, and partners with Operations, Finance, Revenue Management, Asset Management, and M&A to gather requirements and drive adoption.

Job Duties
- Consolidate analytics requests from across business functions into a single documented backlog and recommended roadmap for review and approval. (Essential)
- Translate business needs into clear, documented requirements for the Business Intelligence team, and maintain requirement traceability from request through delivery. (Essential)
- Coordinate the Analytics Steering Committee: prepare agendas, materials, and recommendations; document decisions and track follow-through. (Essential)
- Maintain the enterprise KPI library and business glossary; document metric definitions and calculations, identify inconsistencies across reporting, and recommend resolutions. (Essential)
- Coordinate the community of business analysts embedded within functional teams, promoting consistent standards, methodologies, and quality practices. (Essential)
- Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
- Prepare business cases and ROI analysis for analytics and AI initiatives in support of investment decisions.
- Track adoption of delivered analytics, diagnose barriers to use, and recommend interventions to improve uptake.
- Measure and report value realization against defined success criteria for funded initiatives.
- Support cross-functional analytics initiatives spanning multiple domains, coordinating stakeholders and workstreams against an approved scope.
- Support the AI Strategy function by gathering business use cases, compiling business case inputs, and tracking value measurement.
- Maintain dashboard, self-service, and consumption standards; support business users in accessing and interpreting available analytics.
- Prepare insights on analytics delivery, adoption, and realized value for leadership.
- Partner with the Business Intelligence team to confirm business rules and logic are accurately reflected in the technical layer.
- Escalate prioritization conflicts, requirement changes, and metric disputes, as needed.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Required)
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (Preferred)
- 8 years in of experience in business analytics, strategic finance, business operations, or related discipline (Required)
- 2 years in of experience gathering business requirements and partnering with data engineering or BI teams (Required)
- 2 years in of experience with metrics definition, reporting standards, and analytics governance practices (Required)
- 1 year in of real estate, REIT, or asset-intensive operating environment experience (Preferred)
- 1 year in of experience administering data literacy or enablement programs (Preferred)
- Strong financial acumen - business cases, ROI, and outcome measurement
- Demonstrated ability to work across functions and build consensus among peers
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to prepare executive-ready materials
