Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a manufacturing organization in Minnesota. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day financial activities while helping maintain accurate records and timely reporting. The role will focus on general accounting, close activities, and balance sheet integrity in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the general ledger by recording and reviewing financial activity to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for routine and month-end accounting transactions.

Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including reviewing transactions and resolving discrepancies.

Perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis to keep balances accurate and up to date.

Support month-end close by analyzing account activity, correcting variances, and meeting reporting deadlines.

Assist with payroll-related accounting tasks and provide backup support in this area when needed.

Use Excel and ERP tools such as SAP to analyze data, organize financial records, and improve reporting efficiency.

Requirements 5+ years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar general accounting role.

Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.

Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation activities.

Proficiency in bank reconciliations, daily balancing work, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices within a business environment.

Hands-on experience with SAP ERP or a similar accounting system.

Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas for analysis and reporting.
