Litigation AttorneyRobert Half

Description We are looking for a Litigation Attorney to join a legal team in Clayton, Missouri. This role offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of defense matters while building courtroom, deposition, and case management experience. The attorney will work across all phases of litigation, contribute to case strategy, and maintain strong client communication throughout the life of each matter.

Responsibilities:

Oversee litigation matters from initial filing through final resolution in state and federal court proceedings.

Prepare substantive legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and discovery responses.

Assess case facts, legal exposure, and procedural posture to help shape effective litigation strategies.

Maintain consistent communication with clients by providing updates, discussing developments, and addressing case-related questions.

Work with retained experts and outside consultants to support case analysis, reporting, and testimony preparation.

Represent the firm and its clients during depositions, court appearances, mediations, and trial-related proceedings.

Support trial readiness by organizing evidence, refining arguments, preparing witnesses, and coordinating pretrial activities. Requirements

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Active attorney license in the applicable jurisdiction; Missouri and Illinois bar admission is an advantage.

At least 1 year of litigation experience, with 1-4 years preferred.

Background in toxic tort, product liability, insurance defense, asbestos, or general liability matters is preferred.

Demonstrated strength in legal research, written advocacy, and analytical reasoning.

Ability to independently manage a caseload and keep matters moving efficiently from opening through resolution.

Strong interpersonal communication skills and a client-focused approach to legal service.
