Institutional Lending Operations AnalystRobert Half

Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Institutional Loan Operations Subject Matter Expert for a long-term contract opportunity. This role will focus on reviewing complex loan repayment schedules, interpreting loan structures and cash flows, and developing standardized procedures for capturing and processing key loan data.

This is a hands-on opportunity best suited for professionals with a strong background in institutional loan operations, servicing, administration, or middle/back-office functions. Candidates with primarily front-office origination or relationship management experience will not be the ideal fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Review complex loan repayment and amortization schedules in Excel.

• Interpret loan facilities, repayment terms, cash flow structures, and key contractual details.

• Identify and define the critical data points required to accurately capture and process each loan.

• Develop standard operating procedures for identifying, interpreting, and entering loan data, including handling exceptions and complex scenarios.

• Flag inconsistencies, incomplete information, and unusual loan structures that require further review.

• Partner with business and technology teams to clarify loan scenarios and establish consistent interpretation and processing rules.

• Support the design of validation checks for loan and repayment data.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with institutional, commercial, or syndicated loans, including strong experience in loan operations, servicing, administration, or related middle/back-office functions.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience reviewing or maintaining loan repayment, amortization, or cash flow schedules.

• Proven ability to independently interpret complex loan schedules and determine the contractual and payment information needed for downstream processing.

• Strong understanding of: Loan facilities, Principal and interest payments, Fixed and floating rate structures, Repayment schedules, Maturity structures and Loan amendments and changes to terms

• Advanced Excel skills, including experience working with large and complex financial workbooks.

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred.
