Description

Our client in Garden City, NY is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing / Accounts Receivable Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for someone with healthcare revenue cycle experience who is comfortable handling billing, insurance follow-up, payment posting, and A/R resolution. The right candidate will be organized, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance carriers

• Review and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances

• Investigate and resolve denied, rejected, or underpaid claims

• Post insurance and patient payments accurately

• Verify insurance information and ensure billing compliance

• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursement issues

• Work closely with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies

• Maintain accurate patient account documentation and billing records

• Support month-end reporting and revenue cycle activities as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in medical billing and/or medical accounts receivable

• Knowledge of insurance claims processing, EOBs, denials, and appeals

• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding preferred

• Experience with medical billing software and electronic health record systems

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
