Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist
Location: Utica, NY
Salary: Starting at $104,000/year
We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support EHS programs and compliance initiatives at our Utica liquid-cooling manufacturing and distribution facility. This role is responsible for helping maintain a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and site leadership to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Support EHS programs, regulatory compliance, audits, inspections, and employee training.
Conduct safety assessments, hazard identification, ergonomic reviews, and risk evaluations.
Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain EHS records, training documentation, chemical inventories, waste records, and compliance files.
Support emergency preparedness, PPE programs, machine safety, lockout/tagout, chemical management, spill prevention, and contractor safety.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve workplace safety, environmental performance, and operational compliance.
Analyze safety trends and recommend risk-reduction initiatives.
Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field required.
Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, chemical, or industrial environments preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA-based safety programs, environmental compliance, incident investigations, risk assessments, and audits preferred.
ASP, CSP, CHMM, or similar professional certification preferred.
