Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

Location: Utica, NY

Salary: Starting at $104,000/year

We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support EHS programs and compliance initiatives at our Utica liquid-cooling manufacturing and distribution facility. This role is responsible for helping maintain a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and site leadership to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support EHS programs, regulatory compliance, audits, inspections, and employee training.

  • Conduct safety assessments, hazard identification, ergonomic reviews, and risk evaluations.

  • Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain EHS records, training documentation, chemical inventories, waste records, and compliance files.

  • Support emergency preparedness, PPE programs, machine safety, lockout/tagout, chemical management, spill prevention, and contractor safety.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve workplace safety, environmental performance, and operational compliance.

  • Analyze safety trends and recommend risk-reduction initiatives.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field required.

  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, chemical, or industrial environments preferred.

  • Knowledge of OSHA-based safety programs, environmental compliance, incident investigations, risk assessments, and audits preferred.

  • ASP, CSP, CHMM, or similar professional certification preferred.
