Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a construction-focused company in North Carolina. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent position is ideal for someone who brings strong accounting support experience, thrives in an onsite setting, and can help maintain accurate financial records while identifying more efficient ways of working. The right candidate will be comfortable managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities and supporting a busy operation with dependable financial organization.

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate financial records by processing daily bookkeeping transactions and keeping accounts current.

Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including reviewing invoices, tracking outgoing payments, and monitoring incoming balances.

Complete regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure records align with financial statements.

Use QuickBooks Online to record transactions, organize financial data, and support reporting accuracy.

Review existing bookkeeping workflows and recommend practical improvements that strengthen efficiency and consistency.

Support financial operations for a construction-related business, helping keep documentation organized and up to date.

Assist with continuity of accounting processes during team changes and help preserve reliable day-to-day financial support. Requirements Proven experience in bookkeeping with a strong understanding of core accounting support functions.

Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online in a work setting.

Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.

Ability to identify gaps in current procedures and suggest effective process improvements.

Background in the construction or contractor industry is preferred.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks accurately.

Availability to work onsite in Holly Springs, North Carolina.
