Sr. AccountantRobert Half

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a construction-focused organization in Lincolnton, North Carolina. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring key accounts are properly reconciled. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead monthly closing activities by preparing entries, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure timely completion of financial reporting tasks.

Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by recording transactions accurately and investigating discrepancies when they arise.

Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and a high level of accuracy.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a recurring basis and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.

Perform bank account reconciliations and research variances to confirm cash activity is properly recorded.

Analyze financial data to identify unusual trends, errors, or inconsistencies and recommend corrective action.

Partner with internal teams to gather accounting information and support day-to-day financial operations.

Assist with process improvements and documentation updates to strengthen accounting controls and reporting consistency. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including work in a senior-level accountant capacity.

Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

Experience preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations with accuracy.

Hands-on experience performing bank reconciliations and resolving related discrepancies.

Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial reporting practices.

High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reporting and analysis.
