Job Summary

We're looking for someone with 1-3 years of experience as a Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll work directly with children and adolescents experiencing behavioral health challenges, providing critical support during crisis situations and throughout their treatment journey. You'll be responsible for maintaining detailed patient documentation while utilizing your strong observational skills to monitor patient progress and safety. This position requires someone who can balance technical expertise with genuine empathy and exceptional listening skills.The Behavioral Counseling Technician (BCT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through adolescent depending on which unit worked. Behavioral Counseling Technicians work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care and supervision to clients, monitoring their behavior and documenting observations to support treatment planning Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans by facilitating therapeutic activities and reinforcing positive behavioral strategies Collaborate with clinical team members to ensure a safe and supportive environment while responding appropriately to crisis situations

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in psychology, social work, or related field preferred Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations while demonstrating empathy and patience Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
