Description

Dawoud Kazimee with Robert Half is searching for an experienced GL Supervisor to lead core general ledger activities and support accurate, timely financial reporting in Portland, Oregon. This role oversees key close processes, provides guidance on journal entry review, and serves as a subject matter resource for fixed assets. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting judgment, careful attention to detail, and a solid background working in a similarly scaled organization.

Responsibilities:

Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger close activities to ensure deadlines are met and results are accurate.

Evaluate and approve journal entries prepared by accounting team members, providing feedback to maintain strong accounting quality.

Act as the lead accounting contact for fixed asset matters, including oversight of related records and accounting treatment.

Contribute to the preparation of financial reporting packages and perform detailed reviews before distribution.

Monitor general ledger activity for completeness and consistency, resolving issues that may affect reporting accuracy.

Partner with internal stakeholders to support accounting operations and improve the efficiency of close and reporting processes.

Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related discipline is strongly preferred.

At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a comparable organizational environment.

Hands-on experience with Tier 1 ERP systems.

Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.

High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.

Experience in financial services or title insurance is a plus.

Background in public accounting is desirable but not required.
