• Contract End Date: March 8, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830$1,970
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shift Time: 7:00 p.m. 7:30 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call Requirement: None
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience preferred

NICU Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a Level III or higher NICU; 1 year of PICU experience may also be considered
• Current Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Current BLS certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• PALS certification preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with neonatal respiratory support, mechanical ventilation, and airway management
• Ability to provide respiratory care for neonates and pediatric patients as clinical needs require
• Completion of required credentialing and Pennsylvania fingerprinting before the assignment start date

Neonatal Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to neonates in a high-acuity Level IV NICU environment
• Assist with neonatal and high-risk delivery procedures, including airway support and intubation
• Manage and monitor bubble CPAP, CPAP, nasal CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, conventional ventilation, and advanced neonatal ventilation
• Assist with intubation, extubation, and direct neonatal airway management
• Support the care of patients requiring high-frequency jet and oscillatory ventilation
• Administer and monitor prescribed respiratory therapies, including nitric oxide and aerosol treatments
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, tracheostomy care, blood gas collection, and ventilator troubleshooting
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Float between neonatal and pediatric care areas based on patient and department needs
• Document respiratory assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
