Description

We have partnered with a growing wholesale distribution company on their search for a proactive AR/Collections Specialist with account management and sales tax compliance experience. This individual will work closely with key accounts utilizing SAGE to manage accounts receivable portfolios, proactively contact customers regarding outstanding balances, monitor customer account activity, resolve payment discrepancies, prepare ACH payments, assist with month-end accounting activities, and perform administrative tasks as needed. The ideal AR/Collections Specialist is a self-starter who takes ownership of responsibilities, identifies potential issues before they escalate, and thrives in a collaborative, positive work environment.

Assist with administrative activities

Document daily collection activity

Complete collection effort calls

Identify delinquent accounts

Draft collection letters

Perform payment reconciliations

Assist with client credit inquiries

Apply daily cash receipts

Ad hoc projects

Requirements

The ideal AR/Collections Specialist will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.

Other requirements for the AR/Collections Specialist role include and are not limited to:

3+ years of A/R and Collections in a distribution/product-based company

Proven ability to independently manage the collections process and prioritize outstanding accounts

Hands-on experience with Sage accounting software is required

Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, are required

High level of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail
