As an Accounts Payable Specialist your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Review incoming invoices, assign the correct accounting codes, and enter payable information accurately within required timelines.

Examine employee expense submissions for completeness and policy alignment, then address exceptions or missing details as needed.

Maintain vendor account information and coordinate timely payment processing through methods such as ACH and check runs.

Reconcile payable records and investigate discrepancies by working with departments and suppliers to reach resolution.

Contribute to month-end activities by preparing supporting details for accruals, account reconciliations, and closing entries.

Follow internal financial controls and documented procedures to help ensure compliant and consistent payment operations.

Provide reports, records, and transaction support during audit requests and other financial review activities.

Use accounting and financial systems to track payable activity, update records, and generate routine payment-related reporting.

Requirements

The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist candidate will have:

Hands-on experience in accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing.

Working knowledge of account coding principles and the ability to apply them accurately to vendor invoices.

Experience handling ACH payments and coordinating scheduled check runs.

Familiarity with expense report review and reconciliation within a finance or accounting environment.

Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems used for data entry, tracking, and reporting.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and maintain accuracy in a high-volume workflow.

Effective communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment questions and discrepancies.
