Description

• Devises, lays out, manufactures, assembles, reworks, and repairs a wide variety of jigs, fixtures, gauges, special equipment, and necessary tools used for assemblies.

• Uses a wide variety of raw materials.

• It is required to mount and align such components as hydraulic, electrical/electronic, pneumatic and optical components as required in the tools manufactured.

• Works to precision tolerances as required.

• Uses a variety of precision measuring equipment in accomplishing and checking the work.

• Must be able to work from drawing of part without benefit of tool design.

• Devises methods of obtaining alignment, compound angles, locations and coordination of related tools.

• May be required to set up and use a variety of tool room equipment and machines.

Tools & Equipment Used:

• Machinists hand tools, tool room machines, and equipment, and tool room precision measuring instruments of all kinds.

Qualifications

Experience & Other Requirements:

• Five (5) years experience in jig and fixture building and/or tool and die making experience.
