Job Summary

Weiss Air Conditioning & Plumbing is looking for an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a technician with at least 2 years of hands-on residential service experience who is comfortable diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems independently.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing the job right, communicates well with homeowners, and can accurately diagnose problems and explain repair options without pressure. Our technicians are trusted to represent Weiss in our customers' homes, so professionalism, reliability, and quality workmanship are important to us.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair residential heating and cooling systems

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, airflow, and control-related issues

  • Perform residential HVAC maintenance and system inspections

  • Identify the cause of system failures and recommend appropriate repair options

  • Clearly explain findings, repair recommendations, and system condition to homeowners

  • Complete accurate job notes, photos, equipment information, and service documentation

  • Maintain company-provided vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory

  • Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards

  • Provide professional, respectful customer service on every call

  • Participate in the company's rotating on-call schedule

  • Work independently in the field while communicating with dispatch and management as needed

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of residential HVAC service experience required

  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required

  • Active Texas TDLR Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician Registration or Certification required

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

  • Must meet company vehicle insurance requirements

  • Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle record check

  • Strong residential HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned service calls

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Professional appearance and attitude

  • Dependable, organized, and able to work as part of a team

  • Willingness to participate in a rotating after-hours/on-call schedule
