Position Description:
The Data Engineer Jr supports the design, development, and sustainment of data pipelines, data integration, and basic data infrastructure that enable analytics and AI/ML solutions for CD&I. This position focuses on ingesting, transforming, and preparing data from multiple USMC and DoW systems for use by analysts, data scientists, and operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in building and maintaining pipelines to move and transform data from source systems into analytic data stores.
• Implement basic data quality checks, validation routines, and data cleansing processes.
• Support the integration of structured and semi-structured data sources relevant to capability development and experimentation.
• Work with senior data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
• Contribute to the documentation of data flows, schemas, and data dictionaries.
• Implement basic data security and access controls in accordance with DoW/USMC policies and best practices.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and support operations and maintenance activities.
