Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and grant-related financial activities. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone with solid accounting experience who can manage reconciliations, maintain accurate records, and assist with documentation tied to federal funding. The role offers the opportunity to contribute hands-on support across general ledger processes, reporting support, and financial compliance tasks.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries to keep financial records accurate and up to date.

Maintain general ledger activity and review account balances for completeness and accuracy.

Perform bank and account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

Gather and organize supporting financial documentation required for grant reporting and reimbursement requests.

Assist with drawdown processing and related tracking for federally funded programs.

Support financial management activities tied to federal grants, helping ensure compliance with applicable guidelines.

Use Abila MIP to record transactions, monitor accounts, and produce accounting data as needed.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide accounting support, documentation, and reporting details for audits or reviews. Requirements At least 3 years of accounting experience in a hands-on staff accountant or similar role.

Practical experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger.

Strong background in bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliation.

Experience supporting federal grant accounting, reporting, or related compliance activities.

Proficiency with Abila MIP or closely related accounting software.

Ability to collect, review, and organize supporting financial documents with a high level of accuracy.

Solid understanding of accounting principles and strong attention to detail.
