Description Leidos’ NISC IV Program (National Airspace System Integration Support Contract) is one of the largest and oldest programs supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and we have an exciting career opportunity for an Environmental & Safety Professional to support the FAA with the goal of providing outstanding customer service to the Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Program. In general, this person will be a part of a larger team of EOSH professionals that supports the FAA’s Eastern Service Area. The candidate will responsible for supporting many multi-faceted EOSH programs, and will be required to maintain applicable training and certification requirements as necessary. These programs include (but are not limited to) Asbestos, Lead, Mold, Chemical Management, Emergency Response, Electrical Safety, Water, Fuel Storage Tanks, and Fall Protection. The candidate will provide direct support to multi-level customers. Remote with up to 50% travel. Report to customer site as needed. Must be located in the Nashville, TN or Boston, MA areas. Specifically, the chosen candidate will have experience in writing reports with strict reporting deadlines. This includes extensive experience sampling and interpreting analytical reports and being able to identify exceedances in those reports. The selected candidate will also have experience climbing towers and/or be capable of receiving and giving fall protection training as well as completing tower safety inspections. The selected candidate must be able to provide comprehensive technical EOSH training to employees as requested. Description Leidos is seeking a Field Engineering Technician to provide field inspections of utility poles across New England . This is an HOURLY full-time role with hours contingent on availability of work. Field Engineering Tech Responsibilities: The successful candidate will travel around New England (CT, MA, NY, NH) to collect data, field measurements, and photos of utility poles. This role will also include meeting with joint pole owners to determine appropriate attachment heights for new 3rd party attachers. These poles have maintenance concerns identified by our client in which our field engineers will document these concerns and collect the necessary data for Leidos designers to design their solutions and fixes. In general, travel will be limited on most weeks, but overnight stays are occasionally required depending on the workload. Technicians are expected to meet the goals / expectations set on a weekly basis by their supervisor and communicate their status / progress effectively. As fielding skills are learned, the potential for learning/performing design will be presented as well. Significant walking is necessary; 95% of this position requires field-related work. Candidate will need to be outside year-round and every week as weather and personal safety permit and could be subject to inspection of poles in the following areas: urban, rural, backyard pole lines, private properties, and Transmission and Distribution Right of Ways. Work locations assigned vary monthly. If the work locations are long distances from the candidate’s home, hotels can be provided (including per diem supplements for meals generally between $50-$70 dependent on work location). Most weeks, the technician will be working locally (within a 1-2hr drive one-way). Description We are seeking an Associate Substation Protection and Controls Engineer who will work as a member of a dynamic team within our Power Delivery division: an established group of electric utility engineering consultants that solve challenging substation engineering problems for our utility clients Nation-wide. The Associate Substation Protection and Controls Engineer will work under the direct supervision of an experienced licensed professional engineer and is expected to develop skills in the field of substation engineering and the ability to work with greater independence. Responsibilities: In this role the qualified individual will be expected to: Assist project teams with Protection and Control design on utility substation engineering projects. Perform basic engineering calculations to support engineering design. Follow the established Quality Control Plan while completing assignments. Assist with the preparation of project deliverables including but not limited to engineered drawings, technical reports, project-related correspondence and miscellaneous project documentation. Collaborate with other substation engineering disciplines as required. Assist the team with the development of processes and procedures to improve project execution efficiency. Maintain accurate records and files and a high level of organization. Take opportunities to improve technical knowledge and understanding of the work. Support Leidos’ goals and represent the company positively and professionally.
