As a Warehouse Agent you will be responsible for performing all tasks associated with warehousing and distribution including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, labeling, loading/unloading, and inventory control.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Receives, sorts, and segregates incoming shipments for warehouse / distribution facilities
  • Loads and unloads shipments on to or off of pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
  • Sorts and processes outgoing shipments according to established procedures and regulations 
  • Load shipments into vehicles and uses hand tools to install strapping, bracing, and padding
  • Prepares and updates information in computerized systems such as logs, packing lists, pick tickets, invoices, inventories, transfer/delivery tickets, orders / receipts etc.
  • Maintains inventory records of customer shipments and performs audits to ensure integrity and security of freight
  • May perform routine vehicle, equipment, and warehouse maintenance
  • May operate forklift, hand jacks, and other vehicles and equipment


Skills / Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of scanning freight in/out of the warehouse
  • Detail oriented and strong follow-up skills
  • Able to walk/stand/kneel for long periods of time and lift 40-50 pounds occasionally
  • Fork lift experience (stand up is preferred)
  • Warehouse management systems (WMS) experience is preferred
  • Warehouse and / or Freight Forwarding industry experience strongly preferred

 

 

Pay Range: $23.36 - $31.14/hr. (Based on Experience)

As Sr. Specialist – Technology & Operations
, you are responsible to manage and maintain an effective and consistent facility operation of the DHL Americas Innovation Center (AMIC). You are someone who takes pride and ownership for the IC and with your next level approach support the customer experience. In this hands-on role, you will be key to enable successful and seamless operations by 1) steering day-to-day facility management 2) managing various projects 3) coordinating administrative and budgeting topics and 4) coordinating general matters relating to overall real estate of the Innovation Center. This critical role must consistently demonstrate exceptional laser like detail towards facility functionality, building aesthetics and operational compliance. This role is part of the Global Operations team for the DHL Innovation Centers. While based at the AMIC in Rosemont, IL, the role is also an integral part of a global network of professionals who manage Innovation Center-related facility and operational topics, and will have the opportunity to contribute to and collaborate on global projects and initiatives - bringing a broader perspective and impact beyond the local site.

   
   
 

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Operational Excellence
    • Coordinate day-to-day facility operations of AMIC and its surrounding, including the showroom, office space, meeting spaces and their set-up, and all related maintenance activities
    • Ensure the smooth operations of the technical and smart building elements of the Innovation Center that are critical to customer experience across the facility.
    • Continuously assess and if needed troubleshoot functionality issues; evaluate where external support is needed and organize for this.
    • Maintain a proactive approach in managing building standards to eliminate reactive approach for wear and tear and other failures
    • Maintain and drive a preventative maintenance program for different building systems and equipment. Handle all coordination with necessary parties to conclude this.
    • Coordinate outside contractors and ongoing contract management for service providers.
    • Demonstrate judgment in assessing and resolving building issues promptly and cost-effectively.
    • Develop, manage, and lead facility enhancement projects. Contribute to keeping the building up to date, state-of-the-art and engaging for customers.
    • Ensure that all safety guidelines are adhered to, conduct routine inspections, and act as a safety champion for the Innovation Center.
    • Execute bid management process where relevant, negotiate terms, and provide cross-comparison analysis.
    • Work in close alignment with the Customer Experience and Customer Engagement Teams to ensure that all facility related topics are for any customer visit. Be in the know of current and upcoming events taking place, plan and be proactive.
    • Demonstrate understanding of escalation path with ability to recognize issues immediately and raise accordingly
    • Have a solid working knowledge and ability to assess electrical and mechanical systems; plumbing, carpentry, painting, dry walling, electrical, HVAC maintenance and operations and ensure that you can participate in vendor discussions on the same.
    • Ensure vendor management accountability, efficacy and execution. Oversee work from start to finish.
    • Undertake all necessary assessments, cascade information to own team and management efficiently. Adhere to deadlines.
    • Deliver on strategic approach agreed for the IC jointly set with the global team.
  • Drive Administrative Excellence
    • Be responsible for facility related procurement topics and invoice management.
    • Drive core administrative duties and develop process enhancements for AMIC
    • Monitor and manage facility related spendings, ensuring alignment within approved baselines. Close alignment on budgets with the global team. Support annual budget discussions with input.
    • Liaise with Accounting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments, track pending transactions with quick escalation or follow up for immediate resolution
    • Proactively manage (organize, track, maintain) inventory, purchasing and budget management analysis for facility related costs
    • Follow documentation structure and guidelines for offers, purchase orders, invoices and reports.
    • Provide status updates for management awareness.
    • Become a “NGeP Coupa” user for AMIC; manage purchase order process ensuring a smooth, accurate and timely turnaround.
    • Execute new vendor setup and drive bidding / bid waiver process providing rationale needs.
    • Maintain concise system of records; accurately account for financial related transactions: verifying, allocating, posting.
 
   

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/qualification in Building Engineering, Facility Management or similar
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Any additional training certifications in building management systems, facility management, vendor management or procurement are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Result-driven with a positive attitude, highly engaged with potential to take on further projects that broaden experience and scope.
  • Strong communicator and relationship builder
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in process improvement and maintaining operational standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities

Pay Range: $118,192.50 - $157,590.00+ (Based on Experience)

Job Purpose:

Manage and oversee all shipment execution activities while serving as the primary point of contact for customers.  Understand customer needs and ensure adherence to service commitments and foster strong client relationships to identify upselling opportunities.  Optimize profitability      through strategic routing, assignment of shipments, accurate invoicing, and effective resolution of disputes.  Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, highlight issues early and address customer concerns promptly to ensure effective exception and complaint handling maintaining customer loyalty and trust.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates and confirms transport order to ensure pickup of the shipment at origin
  • Performs booking and booking optimization according to internal guidelines as defined by Product
  • Prepares, controls and distributes all required Import and/or Export documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.) complying with regulations and internal procedures
  • Checks responses from counterparts and finalizes validation of required documents
  • Responsible for customer service and follow-up on shipment status in the Import and/or Export area, identifies incidents, and ensures resolution of incidents to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Interacts with Customer Service, Product, and Global Service Centers, if required
  • May be required to perform other tasks as required

 

Skills / Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Ocean Import and/or Export Industry related experience preferred
  • Strong financial business acumen
  • A quick learner with a “Can-Do” attitude and strong prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of INCO terms
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Cargo Wise systems knowledge is a plus
  • Hazmat certification is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages, oversees, and performs supervisory tasks to direct and control activities performed to effectively manage the end to end Ocean Freight Export processes
  • Serves as the escalation contact for customer’s Ocean Freight Export shipments; responsible for the financial aspects and results; sets, communicates, and drives KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Assumes responsibility for good working practices, safety, and security for customer shipments and staff
  • Collaborate with internal customers (Ocean Gateway, Trucking, and, Handling etc.) for seamless customer service and improve process flows; engage with sales to grow business by participating in sales meetings and customer calls
  • Review and manage month end reports, review P/L, open Accounts Payables Accounts Receivables; escalates carrier performance issues when required with the US Ocean Freight Product team
  • Supervises staff; responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff. Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes



Skills / Requirements:

 

  • BA/BS preferred or minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within the logistics / transportation industry
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Ocean Freight Export processes
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to include driving KPIs, employee engagement / team building. Strong ability to  develop, coach, train, and mentor staff to success
  • Basic knowledge of Cargo Wise system is preferred

 


 

Pay Range: $79,777.50 - $90,000.00+ (Based on Experience)
