We seek a highly motivated Controls Technician to join a dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines by performing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic components within industrial machinery and equipment. You will collaborate effectively with colleagues while progressively taking on more challenging tasks, gaining comprehensive exposure to various aspects of our maintenance department, including electrical motors, control systems, and instrumentation.

Wage: $27 - $37 per Hour
Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with operators, mechanics, engineers, supervisors, and plant leadership.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
Technical Skills:
  • Install, assemble, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures using appropriate tools and procedures.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions efficiently using test equipment and hand tools, implementing timely solutions.
  • Possess robust PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) skills, including the ability to connect, interpret basic ladder logic, and perform basic programming tasks.
  • Effectively back up and manage machine software.
  • Accurately interpret both written and verbal instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits with proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrating the ability to diagnose and resolve problems efficiently under pressure.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Meticulously complete job work orders and maintain thorough documentation of all work performed for future reference.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment performing maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic components.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and perform basic programming across various PLC/HMI platforms (experience with Allen-Bradley, Redlion, Unitronics, and Omron PLCs preferred).
  • Experience working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Servo systems is a plus.
  • Ability to utilize PCs and PLCs for diagnostics and troubleshooting, with proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Hands-on experience working with AC/DC voltages ranging from 5 to 480 volts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical wiring practices following the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, motors, and process controls, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, is beneficial.
Work Environment:
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including overtime and rotating weekends, to ensure optimal production flow.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment with varying conditions, including wet/damp surroundings and fluctuating temperatures.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess the physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting equipment up to 50 lbs. unassisted, bending, standing, climbing, or walking as required.
