We are seeking a Real Estate Closing Coordinator to support UHCU's real estate loan process and member closing experience. You will coordinate the communication for the loan closing between the member, the Credit Union, and third parties to provide a seamless experience for the member. You will be responsible for ensuring current real estate portfolio integrity by auditing loan files, printing compliant documents, and closing Real Estate and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) Loans. You will establish a relationship with Texas Mortgage Lending (TML) staff to serve as support and communication for loan closings, loan funding, and membership information. You will also attend Home Purchase Loan closing in title companies to promote the Credit Union's initiatives

As a Closing Coordinator with UHCU you'll get to:

  • Generate HELOC pre close and closing document ensuring complete, accurate and compliant documents are signed by the member.
  • Facilitate Home Equity, Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC), and Refinance Loan closings to ensure all required documents are fully executed.
  • Coordinate loan closings for loans produced by TML.
  • Maintain professionalism and provide excellent member service, and a seamless experience for the member.
  • Complete a pre close audit to ensure file satisfies set requirements.
  • Coordinate loan closings with Mobile Notary when necessary while still validating loan file compliance with set guidelines and regulations.
  • Answer member questions and concerns regarding their closing documents.
  • Promote the Credit Union's real estate initiatives within the branch.
  • Ensure timely delivery of complete executed documents to the post-closing department.

  • Understanding of closing process and Title Company processes to keep closings on track.
  • Must have dependable transportation to visit various locations to attend closings. Availability to attend closings on weekends as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of banking, credit union, loan processing, Title Company or other related work experience is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Conventional (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac), and Texas 50(a)6 Home Equity lending is required, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience processing complex, detailed information in an accurate and thorough manner.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work with a wide variety of internal and external clients providing effective interpersonal communication and team skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree or some college coursework in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in mortgage lending with knowledge of key terms and functions specific to the mortgage loan life cycle from the point where a new loan is approved and closing documents are prepared.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
