Emerald Nursing & Rehabilitation Center -A restorative nurse is responsible for developing and implementing programs to help residents maintain or regain their highest level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. This includes conducting assessments, creating care plans, providing hands-on care, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.EducationMust possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program.ExperienceMust have, as a minimum, one (1) year experience in restorative care.Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.Specific RequirementsMust possess a current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), LPN or LVN in the state.Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.Must be knowledgeable of restorative care procedures.Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of restorative care.Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of treatment areas.Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning.Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing restorative care practices.Must be able to use preventive measures to ensure quality of life and to maintain functional levels.Must be able to recognize residents needs such as ROM exercises, ambulation limitations, etc.Must be able to instruct Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in continuing preventive restorative care.Must be able to related information concerning a residents condition.Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.#J-18808-Ljbffr
