Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Therapy Assistant is responsible for assisting the therapist to complete tasks within their scope of practice and competence. This includes patient assessments, psychosocial histories, treatment planning, and discharge planning activities. The Therapy Assistant also assists the therapist to conduct individual and group treatment including psycho-educational and activity sessions. The Therapy Assistant will also work with clients to establish/review goals of treatment and progress toward goals. The Therapy Assistant will document in the medical record to reflect the patient's progress and participation in treatment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services field from an accredited school or university.
At least 2 years of related clinical experience with the serious and persistently mentally ill or addictions population is preferred.
Excellent group facilitation skills and experience.
Must have an ability to work with minimal supervision and be able to handle multiple demands in a calm, controlled manor.
