Status: Full Time, Exempt

This position will be responsible for supporting the City of Rochester employee wellness strategy both in development and execution of programs. Additionally, this position will support improving the health of the Greater Rochester Community through creative and impactful wellness and well-being programming that aligns to the Mayor of Rochester's community wide focus areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop meaningful and impactful programs and interventions for City of Rochester employee populations in alignment with goals and objectives. Consideration needs to be given to the varying needs of the different departments being mindful of socioeconomic needs, SDOH and health equity.
  • Collaborate with City of Rochester internal leadership on strategy and goals.
  • Leverage Customer Insights analytics to identify key areas that need to be addressed.
  • Aligning with the Mayors key areas of focus, cultivate programming to improve the wellness of the City residents. Strategically focus on key areas with impactful wellness and well-being programs that is mindful of the greatest needs in that area.
  • Leverage internal and external resources and partnerships to deliver on the strategy. Where needed, develop new partnerships to advance the efforts.
  • Leverage evidence based best practices, a public health knowledge base and strong project management skills to support both he employees at the City of Rochester and the residents of Rochester.


  • OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory compliance issues as they exist and change from time to time.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/Degree:

    At least 3 years equivalent experience in health education, public health, or other related health or business field.

    Experience:

    Ideal candidate will have previous experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating public health programming and interventions and have familiarity with strategic planning and data analysis

    Skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based best practices and consumer research to develop, implement, and evaluate engaging interactive health promotion programs and interventions.
    • Working knowledge of behavioral change theory and application principles.
    • Able to leverage and analyze data to make informed recommendations and decisions.
    • Demonstrates ability to maintain composure and professional demeanor in stressful situations when dealing with all levels of customers/members, employers, brokers, vendors, and staff.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write communications, analyses, and reports for external customers.
    • Demonstrates reliability and flexibility to meet the needs of the team.
    • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in all interactions.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
    • Travel within the MVP service area required (must have access to a reliable vehicle & possession of a valid driver's license).
    • Some early mornings/late evenings may be required on occasion.
